6 must-see neighborhoods in London !

Here, I quickly present you 6 neighborhoods that I was able to visit during my quick stay in London in 2017. If you have the opportunity to go to London, you really can't miss them!

1. Westminster

Without surprise, we start with the district of Westminster. It is THE most symbolic and historical monument of the country.

In this district, I had the opportunity to visit in 2017 the famous Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the House of Parliament as well as the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square!

I am far from having visited everything, next time I will not hesitate to visit all the great places there that I missed!

2. Covent Garden

The first time I heard about this neighborhood, it was for its square and its street artists that attract all the tourists!

There, you can find the Royal Opera House, the super colorful Neal's Yard and the London Transport Museum

If you are a shopping fan, then you will be in heaven! There are many luxury stores but also typical "made in London" stores.

It is a very lively area with pubs and restaurants!

3. The City

This is the world-famous London and European business district. It is home to the legendary Tower of London, a historic fortress, not far from Tower Bridge and St Paul's Cathedral. You will come across many businessmen in the City as it is a financial center and home to the headquarters of many multinational companies, newspapers, banks and insurance companies, not to mention the London Stock Exchange.

Did you know that the City was the 3rd largest financial center in the world?

4. Camden

The famous Camden, the punks and its rockstars! Located in the north of London, Camden is a neighborhood in its own right, with an unrivalled atmosphere! With its young population, Camden Town is a place for parties but is also famous for its markets. If you're a vintage fan, you'll find London's largest thrift market here. Camden is the perfect mix of genders!

5. Greenwich

Greenwich is worth the detour! If you have time, don't hesitate to take a tour in the Greenwich district. With its Victorian and Georgian monuments, the architecture of this district is breathtaking. Along the Thames, the boats lined up give a village atmosphere as well as its beautiful parks with trees and its famous market.

Note that the Royal Observatory Greenwich is located in Greenwich Park, a park that will offer you a splendid view of London !

6. Notting Hill

You've probably already heard the name "Notting Hill" thanks to the 1999 movie with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant! With its pastel-colored facades, this chic neighborhood transports us to another era, soft and romantic. The Notting Hill Festival and its 5 km long parade, which takes place every year in August, is a major attraction in London. Don't forget Westbourne Grove with its cafes, stores and other attractions!

Unfortunately, I couldn't visit everything because London is huge, and my stay was too short to see all the places ! But there is still an endless list of great places to see!

If you've visited any other great places, feel free to share it in the comments!
